This morning the learners went on a scavenger hunt / tour of the school. One of the stops on our tour was at the big play structure near the big field. The children certainly enjoyed playing on it before we returned to the classroom for snack time.

For snack time we had hummus, carrots, and crackers – the children in our class LOVE hummus! I don’t think I have seen so many children excited about hummus in a long time.

For first grade math time we had our second lesson about roll-n-write. The children were beyond excited to learn about roll-n-write. Roll – n – write is a math activity that we do each day when the kinders are dismissed. I will write more about it in the weeks ahead.

This week we also started to learn about our peace corner and how we will implement mindfulness into our everyday classroom life. We made a list of what “peace” means to us. We learned about the very special Tibetan bell that I purchased for our classroom to use when we have our mindfulness lessons.
